Multicriteria Strategies for Planning the Capacity of Interactive Services for the ISDB-T standard Return Channel

The services and communication facilities around the world are continuously increasing. This process of expansion of telecommunications infrastructure has enabled a new set of applications and systems that was previously impractical. Some of these systems, such as the standard ISDB-T (Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting Terrestrial) on which the Brazilian System of Digital TV (SBTVD) is based, are intended to promote widespread access to information. This standardization makes it possible to access information more widely due to the high capillarity of broadcast television. This paper focuses on multicriteria strategies for planning the capacity of interactive services for the ISDB-T standard return channel. Quality of service requirements, user profiles and access technologies for return channel are combined, as never before, in order to measure the (in) feasibility of typical applications for digital TV on consolidated telecommunication infrastructures. For a particular system, the complexity, computational intelligence models and multicriteria analysis are used for deciding the technology to be used as return channel.
